A nonexpert's opinion/guide on holiday gifts

This is the time of the year everybody goes ape shit trying to find that special gift for whatever creature you're buying for. Alas, there are more options than Sybil has personalities. So, what the hell can you do to decide? Ask the person and give away your "surprise" or get the "awe, you don't have to get me anything(I've never heard that one, but people say it exists)"? Ask a sales clerk who has no interest in you or is so damn busy they can barely breathe? Or, read my nonsensical ideas and opinions? Let's break this down into themes or something.

 ***TECH***

Wireless Devices(phones)....
Apple - If they have no individuality, personality, or completely terrified of technology buy an iWhatever. They can "enjoy" life in their bubble.

WP8 - Here is a surprising twist for the newcomer or intimidated by tech and various platforms. This is actually the most intuitive and easiest UI on the market...Hands Down!! The apps are growing at a blistering pace also. Even tech savvy Microsoft users will appreciate the ease of everything syncing together across computer, phone, tablet, cloud, and Xbox. Nokia Lumia 1020 is the Queen bee here

Android - Hey kids, this is actually the #1 platform used in the world by A LOT. While Apple continues to be a dictatorship of your usage, Android and WP8 are gaining market share faster than a politician changing topics. A lot of devices with different experiences to fit individual users wants and needs. Top choices right now are LG G2(top specs in EVERYTHING), Nexus 5(pure Android experience and same GPU as G2), Samsung Galaxy S4 and Note3(very different for different users, but top end specs, I'm not a fan of the UI or long wait on updates), HTC One(best build quality and comfort with great specs), and lastly Microsoft Moto X(the always on feature, Battery life, customized creator, and USA build are game changers even with less than spectacular specs).

Tablets....
I hate this part because while I use a Nexus 7, I hate redundancy. I have a phone with that platform I don't really need to repeat that. I want my tablet to do more than my phone can...period. Give me a full computing experience for that productivity(and games). If price isn't an issue Microsoft Surface pro2. If your like me and broke, the Asus Transformer T100 is a full Windows 8.1(not RT) and detachable keyboard(inlcuded) for $350.

***SKATEBOARDING***
Decks...
Shut up about this brand or that brand and try something new, you might like it. Seriously though, my personal favorites to ride this last year has been Blind R8, Real, and Mystery. This next year I want to explore a few new kids like Threat and smaller guys like BrenGuard, Division 3, and Chance if they ever make it down to the US.

Wheels...
Spitfire Formula fours are only rivaled by Bones STF right now....Period, end of story

Grip...
Filmbot or Mob ONLY... Grizzly is too soft for my liking.

Hardware...
Knowgood Hardware .... period, end of story

Trucks...
Theeve is making some noise, I'm still waiting to try them(none in the Tampa area, yet) Indy and Thunder is all I've used since '85

Shoes...
Favorites have to be Nike SB and Fallen Footwear love both for so many reasons. New company Mike Vallely is backing really has my intrigued...Servant Footwear, I like what I see from afar, especially for those that are vegan skaters.

Accessories...
Insoles and everything else...Etcetera Project... no gimmick ingredients, jst shit that WORKS and durable!

That's enough of my opinionated rants for today, enjoy it or just talk behind my back about it later. ha
